Plastic pipe systems for drinking water supply in Denmark

Dancert is responsible for the new Danish certification scheme, DK-VAND, which became effective on 1 January 2015.

Certificates can also be issued by the other partners of INSTA-CERT.

The scheme DK-VAND ensures that the pipe systems meet the Danish requirements for pipes and other components for drinking water supply systems. From 1 January 2015 an environmental assessment and a requirement specification of the material must be carried out by DHI, and a subsequent accredited test must prove that the requirements are met.

The scheme is run by a steering committee with representatives from the Danish water supply facilities and manufacturers of plastic pipes, DANVA and Danish Technological Institute.
